Please Note: You may also be interested in participating in our full range of Summer Independence Camps. While this camp was specifically designed for DeafBlind individuals, we support DeafBlind individuals in any of our camps they wish to attend.

Are you a DeafBlind individual who enjoys adventure, friendship and fun? You and your family are welcome at the Camp Bowen: Charlie Crane Memorial Camp for People Who Are DeafBlind. Named in loving memory of Camp Bowen alumnus, Charlie Crane, the camp is a vibrant, inclusive space on beautiful Bowen Island where DeafBlind individuals of all ages and their families come together for adventure, learning, and friendship. Our camp’s purpose is to empower every participant to explore new activities, build confidence, and connect with others in a safe, fully accessible environment.

Whether you’re a first-time camper or a seasoned adventurer, this camp has something for everyone. Try your hand at classic camp fun – from campfires and nature walks to swimming and crafts – all adapted for our DeafBlind campers with the support of skilled staff and volunteers. Participants from across the country unite to share experiences, learn new skills, and discover that no challenge is too big when you have a community by your side. Our team, including blind mentors and guides, is there every step of the way to ensure you and your family can embrace independence and make the most of every activity.

But our camp is more than just activities – it’s a family. It’s a place where friendships blossom and confidence soars. Here, you’ll meet people who understand your journey, celebrate your strengths, and cheer you on as you push past limits you never thought possible.
