Looking for a camp experience the whole family can enjoy together? Join us this summer at Camp Bowen’s Family Camp, where we celebrate the joy of togetherness in a fully inclusive, safe environment. Our camp is specially designed for families with blind, DeafBlind, and low vision children to play, learn, and connect amidst the natural beauty of Bowen Island.
What the Camp Offers
Whether your family is new to summer camps or you’re seasoned adventurers, Family Camp has something for everyone. We’ve filled each day with exciting activities and supportive programming to ensure that every member of your family has a great time and feels involved:
- Inclusive Outdoor Adventures: Enjoy gentle nature walks, beach explorations, and scavenger hunts. All activities are adapted for all ages and abilities, so everyone in your family can experience the wonder of the outdoors together.
- Creative & Sensory Play: Take part in arts and crafts and interactive games that spark imagination and laughter. You and your kids can get creative side by side.
- Evening Campfire Magic: Gather around the campfire for sing-alongs, storytelling, and s’mores under the stars. Our campfire evenings are warm and welcoming – a chance for you and your family to relax and bond over shared traditions (with Braille and large print song books so everyone can join the fun!).
- Mentorship & Support: Learn from experienced camp leaders and mentors, many of whom have lived experience with blindness, DeafBlindness, or low vision or are parents of blind/DeafBlind children. They’ll guide activities, offer tips, and be there to answer your questions – ensuring you feel supported every step of the way.
